Resources are almost never a problem as most hired ships here share resources and are stocked to the brim with them. I have built an Arrow class ship, and hired a military ship to escort me to the edge of the densely packed space. So I'm just going to leave the populated space and go somewhere far out. Not go after pirates who evade the military at every turn. I just want to find a nice rock, plant down a base and settle down. I can't go 10 km without getting either raided by pirates or getting drafted by the local military fleet into performing some "duty" for them to counter the pirates. In the sector I live in, it's getting crowded. I will put as many as the logs I can below, and I hope you enjoy!
Link availiable here: įor those asking about where everything is, here is a map I made of the server. If you want a TL DR of what occurs within the server, our primary admin has wrote a summary of the sector. The server (for those who are asking) is on a LAN hosted by a super-ultra-stupid beefy computer that can handle all Clang can throw at Space Engineers, so there is no public access at the moment. I also collect the logs from ships that are willing to share. We often get derelict ships from players that are not online, and I often collect the logs. It's mostly because when you have a lot of people on, you have to make sure people don't run into one of your bases and just starts grinding it apart because they thought it was abandoned. I get a lot of visitors to my station for repairs, some are nice people, some not so much.Īlso on the server, we have an unspoken rule that you should keep a log of what you're doing by use of a programmable block. We'd understand if some of you felt like this isn't something needed, but try to see it that way: this doesn't revoke any rights (if you want to keep your guild all-horde you can), it only adds new opportunities ! A new player asking questions in world chat will have more people available to help him, and you will find groups faster for any non-PvP activity. On the server I run on I run a salvage and repair station. Since they will be able to join hands in several activities now, it didn't make much sense to keep them separated. World Channels will be fused so Horde and Alliance players can now talk together. You can still obviously chose to enter mercenary mode if needed ! PvP still remains Horde vs Alliance as the system doesn't easily allow for a change. You can now group in raids and dungeons with people from both factions, meaning it will be easier and faster to gather the needed amount of characters ! This also applies to LFG filtering. That doesn't mean you have to invite everyone, but at least now you can !
Guilds can now contain players from both factions. That way we get the best of 2 worlds: reducing the faction balancing problems and staying blizzlike ! Ever since Battle for Azeroth some of you have been voicing their concern about faction balancing, and the fact that as an Alliance player it was quite difficult to find progress guilds or people to group with.įor 9.2.5 Blizzard announced that they would finally enable cross-faction despite the war between Horde and Alliance being a central element in WoW's lore: this is something we've done on all of our older expansions here at Firestorm for quite a while, and we thus figured we could anticipate a bit and enable it on Oribos on Monday February 21st.
